DIY Tissue Pouch

This idea comes from Martha Stewart! Super easy sewing project - can be done by hand or machine :-).

You will need:
  • Rotary Cutter with Pinking Blade, Scissors or Pinking Shears
  • 6"x7" Rectangle - Crafting Felt, Felted Sweater or Leather
  • Sewing Machine & Coordinating Thread or Needle & Thread
  • Kleenex Pocket Packs (or whatever brand you prefer!)

Cut a 6"x7" rectangle out of your desired material. It should be a sturdy fabric that will not fray. I used pieces cut from an upcycled leather coat!

Lay the rectangle so that the 7" sides are at the top and bottom. Fold in the 6" sides equally so that they very slightly overlap in the center. Use alligator clips to hold the ends together.

Sew both ends closed with a 1/3 inch allowance. Remember to backstitch! Make another line of stitching 1/8" away from the first seam.

Place the pocket pack of tissues inside the pouch.

And put it in your purse!
